Recently redecorated with comfortable booths and tables. Often really mixed crowd, older/younger, men/women, queer, straight and in-between. Karaoke is always popular, but you can always get a turn at the mic. No frills, but a very fun place to hang out with friends.

      Friendly people!
      Stopped in for the drag show on a Thursday night in September 2015. I was immediately welcomed by everyone in the place - including the bartender and the performers! The regulars were so nice, inviting me to sit with them for the show and having great conversations. Tony that bartender was fantastic. Street parking was available, and the club is easy to get to. It's a little small, but that adds to the cozy and friendly atmosphere. If I find myself in Ottawa again, I'll definitely be back.

      fun place but not for club kids
      This place is usually a fun place to be on any given night. Down to earth, friendly and fun patrons. Cheap shots, pool table, thumpy industrial and post punk on Saturdays. 3 stars because its a basement and the people are the reason to go to Swizzles anyway. My favorite bar <3 :3

      This is MY Bar.
      Not in the sense I own it, but in the sense that the bartenders know me and where I sit. And who I come in with, and we have real conversations about things. A couple years back I had a bad time there, someone wouldn't take no for an answer, it made me wary of the location for a time. Only happened the once though, the usual crowd are nice people. No night is ever the same as the one before. Something for everyone! Would have five stars, but they really need to fix the bathrooms up.

      If u enjoy a bar that used to be run by thugs, was, is a haven for drug dealers, then this bar is for you! Enjoy!

      Bias Free & Drama Free
      Swizzles has been like my extended living room for several years. Many people come for a social drink before clubbing. on the weekend. It is occasionally quiet on weeknights, but is busy, flirty fun on Karaoke nights.

      Fun for karaoke
      It's an awesome spot on Fridays and Sundays for karaoke. Not glamourous, but the people who come and the staff are friendly
