Speaking Out On Sochi

As the opening of the Sochi games on February 7th approaches, it is important that LGBTI communities around the world speak out against the homophobic policies in countries around the world like those in Russia, the 2014 Olympic host country. Please join Jer's Vision, AIDS Committee of Ottawa, The Snowblower Festival and The Ottawa International SOGI Rights Network at a panel discussion around anti-LGBT laws in Russia and what they mean for the Sochi games. Panelists Include: Paul Dewar, MP Foreign Affairs Critic Joanne St. Lewis, Professor of Law and International Human Rights Issues Jennifer Birch-Jones, LGBT activist in Canadian sport. This event is set to take place on the day of the opening ceremonies of the games. PTS will be screening Sephen Fry's "Out There" right after the panel discussion so please plan to stay for this amazing documentary. Doors open at 6:30PM
