Edge Club and Lounge (Closed Permanently)

(19 Ratings)
Dance club popular with college-age to early 30s crowd
Rooftop patio on Tuesdays and Sundays during summer. "Sexy Friday"; "Dance Fever Saturday"; and Sunday Cabaret drag shows. Expect to pay a bit more for drinks and the cover, but the dance music is usually good, and the weekends are crowded. Sauna 63 bathhouse in same building complex to hit a home run if you strike out at the bar.

Great club!

Went to Edge last weekend with some girlfriend for their event they put on. Had a blast! met so many great people. Great place for anyone gay or straight to go clubbing can't wait to go again!

Seriously...

I've gone here a few times with a few different sets of friends, and never have had a good time. It's too fake and too nasty. Maybe I'm not a club kid who gets off on being a jerk to strangers, and maybe I don't get what the Edge is trying to do... but maybe it's just somewhere that the staff take themselves too seriously and the patrons are too insecure. Decor could use some updating, bartenders could be better equipped/trained (seriously how can you not make a Cosmo in a gay bar?), and the layout could be more maneuverable.

venue that exploits its patrons

This past weekend I ended up at club Edge for someone's birthday. One of my friends, after having 5 beer and a shooter, leaving a nice tip every time, asked for water. He was denied, and told to go to drink in the washroom. He asked for a cup, "you can't bring cups or bottles in the bathroom" was the reply from the bartender. He came up to me and told me that he was denied water at the bar. So we went back together, and we were again denied the water, I asked if it's not illegal, he told us that he's just doing his job. So right in front of him I started tweeting and posting on Facebook about what had happened, I showed him my phone a couple of times. Within a couple of minutes the bouncer pushed me and my boyfriend out of the club. Since Saturday night when I posted on Facebook, I have had numerous replies to my post with only negative comments, and recounts of similar or worse experiences at this establishment.

Bad Service, Rude staff

Yesterday, my boyfriend, along with his friends, were kicked out of Club Edge (Edge Night Club) for asking for Tap Water in order to sober up. This is the second time I've seen this happen... When the bartender refused to provide him with tap water, he suggested he drinks from the bathroom. he then asked for a cup, but he informed him that no cups were allowed in the bathroom and that he should use his hands. Surprised at the bartender's response, my Boyfriend's friend said he would tweet his friends about this incident. Apparently, this was grounds to kick them out along with his boyfriend. This all happened as he was in the bathroom. Last time, I was with a friend at the Edge's Rooftop Patio. There was a very drunk girl at the bar who was asking for water and apparently had no money left for bottled water. My friend made a comment to the bartender saying "Isn't it illegal to refuse water to your clientele according to your smart serve certification?". Apparently, the same bartender, didn't like this either, so he fetched the bouncer and made his way to the dancefloor. He waved his finger in my friend's face screaming at the bouncer "That's him! That's Him! Kick him out!" Swatting the bar Tender's hand away was a bold move that got my friend his ankle broken in a struggle with the bouncer. The way this club treats its clientele is abhorrent. "Go drink from the tap in the bathroom with your hands" is not a way to keep clientele coming back nor any way to treat a human being.

Just moved from N.y.c this is what i found.

Seemed to be the only night club in the city when i went for a visit. Music was ok more top 40 then anything. The drinks were not made that well, and to be honest the staff was really rude. I am from N.Y.C, and the staff at our bars do not even have the attitudes that these guys had. I think this bar is destined to close when something better opens up. Do not waste your time. I went to a small gay pub around the corner called Swizzles. I wont lie it also was no hell but everyone was really nice and they had lame karaoke which sadly was a better option then club attitude lol !
